Colin from Southridge Contracting reviews Magnum Wrap
Colin from Southridge Contracting is entering his 5th season producing and wrapping conventional bales in the Waikato. Faced with trying to find a wrap that could handle the treatment from his Inagra wrapper Colin tried a wide range of different wraps. Here’s his feedback on how Magnum wrap compared and why he’s sticking with it.
“Film breaks were the biggest problem I faced prior to using Magnum wrap. Previously I was in and out of the tractor up to 10 times every roll fixing film breaks. With Magnum, I don’t have that problem so the number of bales I’m producing every hour is considerably more. I’d estimate I’m getting upwards of another 15 bales out the back every hour and its lot less stressful!
The second thing I’ve noticed is the durability and toughness of the wrap is right up there. A lot of the bales we produce are double-handled- they are loaded on to the trucks and trailers and then sold again later. Everything we do is picked up with soft hands but boys being boys they are not always delicate with them. They get hurled around, chucked around on truck decks and tied down yet they come out the other side still intact. It’s pretty tough stuff. “
